Updates Report Cards: Report grading window closes this Friday. I will email the report cards out to families early next week. Expectations for grading students: For a student in Gr. 1-5, passing a course means he/she met at least 40% of the standards in that course. And a student has to receive a mark of either “3” or “4” to meet a standard. EVERY section of the report cards should have at least 1 comment. In particular for reading: students reading level. Here are the report card comment codes. Fall Term IEP Progress Report Due Fall Term Progress Report will be sent home the week of 12/13 for Grades 1-6 only (Not K0-K2). If progress reports can please be completed by December by the 9th so that I can finalize them and send them home to families, that would be greatly appreciated. All providers must complete the report in order to finalize the progress report. How to fill out progress reports is here https://www.screencast.com/t/Ri740WzO Progress Report on Edplan: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vckc9Sh9vmcl_T0E4_DfmwelgBxhQK6QffRTN8FNtpg/edit PD: The content for PD this week was going to be ST Math. However, we met with our ST Math coach and determined now might not be the best time for the topic that was going to be covered (Puzzle Talks). That PD has been pushed to February 1st. For this Wednesday, the time and 2-hour credits will be given to you. We have report cards, progress reports, and conferences. There’s plenty to do. Conferences: At this time there will be no signup sheets for conference coverages due to the number of staff absences and lack of consistent sub coverage. Teachers, please coordinate with paras and paras will be compensated for covered time. If it is urgent and you strongly believe you need a sub and have a day in mind in which you will conduct conferences for the whole day, please see me.
Data MAPS Assessments: I have shared that the window assessment opens up on the 19th, however, ODA has confirmed we can begin assessing students and recommended we begin after the 10th at the earliest. I highly suggest to get as many done as possible BEFORE the break. Our goal will be to get at least a 95% participation rate overall this time around. This data will be used to make adjustments to the 90-Day Plan/QSP. ACCESS Testing Window(January 5th - February 10th) is coming soon!: Language Acquisition Team Facilitators have received a copy of the ACCESS Timeline as well as the ACCESS 2023 FAQ. -Wednesday, 12/7 - LAT-F Meeting: LAT-Fs will review inputting accommodations on testing platform. -School Leader ACCESS Office Hours (Optional): In response to feedback, opportunity for School Leaders to hear same messaging shared with LAT-Fs and ask questions via Zoom:

Math At this point in the school year, we should be at 25% average completion average rate. At this time we are at 20% as a school. How can we catch up by the end of January?

Special Education (IEP meeeting)/Support/CBHM Coverage There could potentially be two covering COSE that may support us through December. Currently, coordinating with our AD. If there are any pressing matters, please communicate that to me as soon as possible.
Operations How we determine indoor recess Several classes have been staying indoors the last couple of days. The hope is that students are outside whenever possible during recess but the more structure and supervision. Especially during this time of year when the sun sets early, it is important to get the kids outside and access to air.

Later/Reminders After-School Club OpporunityFor about 3 years in a row now, Ms. Frank and Mr. LoBue have run a very successful after-school program in the fall and spring. I know many of you have interests and talents you would like to share with our students. We have allocated $10,000 this year for stipends for staff members to run an after-school club. Staff members will be paid the BTU rate. If interested, please share your idea here.
